If there were ever a time when choppers ruled the road, this has to be it. Over the course of one weekend in Daytona, what used to be Biketoberfest, we decided the name should be changed to Choptoberfest. No matter where you turned or looked, there was another chopper rolling down the street.
From the biggest names in chopper building to shops we had never heard of, everyone had a chopper on display, and of the seemingly 150,000 people in attendance, probably 1 in 10 were riding some form of a chopper.
One really cool thing about Choptoberfest was the selection of choppers and chopper kits for sale. As you wandered through Daytona Harley-Davidson, or the rest of Beach Street, choppers were the hot ticket in the vender booths. On Main Street, we found Orange County Choppers, Choppers Inc., Indian Larry, Killer Choppers, Hellbound Steel, KC Creations, and a host of others showing off their chopper-building skills. We even found a whole new vender area with all kinds of choppers out in front of the Daytona Speedway.
Without twisting your arm too much, we strongly suggest you get down to Daytona next year for Biketoberfest. With a big enough crowd, we can try to petition the city to change the name to Choptoberfest, and if they won't, we already have it on our pages!
