As we all know, Bike Week is the kick-off to the riding season. Sure some people live in year-round climates but for most people, the first week of March is the time to get the dust off the bike and hit the road. With that burning desire in mind, hundreds of thousands of riders make the trip to the Florida coastline to burn some rubber down Atlantic Avenue.
Needless to say, choppers are the focus of the motorcycle industry these days and Daytona attendees made sure we knew it. You could not go more than 100 yards around town without seeing a chopper riding down the street, parked on the curb or in a vender booth. We shot more pictures this year than any year past, which was interesting since overall attendance was down this time.
Bike Week is always a myriad of activities, with shows, vendors, premiers, and races to attend. However, normally you can count on rain at least one day to calm things down; this time was an exception. The weather was incredible and it seemed like people were riding 24/7 to take advantage of it.
If you have not attended Bike Week, mark your calendars for next year -- it's a one-of-a-kind party that makes you feel at home, no matter what you ride or where you are from!
