The West Cost Super Show is here to stay. The show was a group effort of three magazines - STREET CHOPPER, HOT BIKE, and HOT ROD BIKES - and boy was it successful. With about 150 different vendors and close to 10,000 people walking though the gates, there was a good turnout for a show that was in a new location, Hidden Valley Park in Irvine, California. The new location was three times the size of last year's site, Newport, California, with plenty of parking for motorcycles and cars.
The show coordinators and magazine staff would like to thank everyone that attended the show at its new location, as well as the event staff for all its help. We would like to think that the show's success was due to all the hard work by our staff, but the truth is, it was the work of great sponsors like Performance Machine, Big Bear Choppers, Lifestyles Custom Cycle, V-Twin City, and Von Dutch Customs. With all the big guns in the house, it was no shock that the place was full of readers to see all the top builders and their bikes, along with ride-in bikes for the bike show sponsored by Supreme Legends.
Both days were packed with things to do and see, like the high jumping action of the LBZ Freestyle jump team with shows on both days that impressed everyone!
On Sunday was the unveiling of the Big Chopper from the Discovery Channel. The world's largest chopper, it was built by team leader and world-renowned builder Wink Eller. Plus, there was live music and a fashion show from Lifestyles, and a Dyno shootout. For a show that is only two years old, it was like we had been doing it for years. Next year, we plan to have it in the same place - call it Hidden Valley or the old wild animal park or even Wild Rivers - whatever you call it, just get there. Mark your calendars; the dates are June 4-5, 2005. We will see you there - just be prepared to see the biggest, baddist, craziest bike displays, vendors, and music.
