"We just thought it'd be cool to have people come by and see the place," he said. "It was up to five hundred last year...over a thousand people are here today."
We believed it. We also got a quick look around at the shop, which is pretty damn amazing in itself. I sense a Shop Crawl feature for our sister magazine BIKE-WORKS if I can get back down there with a real camera.
Dublin Mob evolved from an iron-working family shop, and as such has quite a few machines dating back to the '40s. We oohed and ahhed over some of the equipment they've got, all of which has been painstakingly refurbished over the years and lends flavor to both the place and the chosen lifestyle of its inhabitants: fun-loving Irish lads mixed with Elvis and some grease.
All in all, we were blown away: food, music, motorcycles-what more can you ask for? My two friends came away from the event dazed and convinced that they had to start riding bikes immediately, because you can't leave a party like that and not want to jump onto a low chop with big apes. I've no doubt that the event will continue to grow and flourish, because the Irish boys can throw one hell of a party.
See you next year!
