2001 Orange County Choppers Rigid - Green Monster

First, Paul built a set of pull-back bars that houses a speedometer above the top tree as well as a set of Ness controls. Then a Mid-West headlamp and Legends foot controls made their way onto the bike. A CCI taillight with a slight OCC modification and a Danny Gray seat made the bike almost ready. Paul still wasn't happy with the overall package. He went back into the shop and fit a few bent tubes across the handlebars and then built a cage-style belt guard for the primary. Now he was satisfied enough to paint it, so it was stripped to the frame.

The collection of metal was taken to Superior paint and handed off to a guy named Eric. He molded everything smooth enough to make the welds invisible and applied a few coats of primer. Paul stopped by to discuss colors for the bike. Eric showed him a lime and gold blend he had been working on for a BMX racer. Paul knew that the color was definitely not going to be popular among potential customers, which would definitely increase his time of ownership, so he asked Eric to coat everything in the wild color with no graphics to break it up. Eric suggested many other options, but Paul stuck with his choice.

When the bike was finally all back together, Paul knew he made the right choice. Not only did the 20-inch-over bike grab attention, the color was so unusual that no one tried to buy it from Paul the whole week in Sturgis. Well, actually one guy begged Paul to paint it red and sell it to him, but the green monster had hooked its tentacles into Paul and he wasn't about to let it go just yet.
