So far, Mike had built a pretty clean chopper for Accutronix. He made a set of bars with an internal throttle and hydraulic lines that would flow through Accutronix risers. With the addition of P.M. hand controls and a single Aeromach mirror on the left-hand side, the bar setup was finished. After Mike added Accutronix foot controls and pegs, the bike could stop and go in style. He then installed a Headwinds headlight and MGS taillight/license plate mount.
Usually, the seat is the last piece of the custom bike puzzle and goes on pretty easily, but not in this case. Dan had this crazy idea to upholster the seat in potato sack burlap. No, that's not a typo, we said potato sack burlap. When the time came for covering the seat, Mike hoped Dan had forgotten that little idea, but he hadn't. The guys in Mike's shop told him it shouldn't be done, but he made it happen anyway. What's more, he made it work. When the bike made its debut at the Love Ride last year, a lot of folks liked the seat. One guy liked the bike so much, he bought it from Accutronix. And that's pretty cool for a bike that was just supposed to be a shop bike.
