2004 Special Construction Rigid - Boar's Nest Chopper

Josh Soto, the owner of josh's Boar's Nest in Oceanside, California, has no problem building fancy bikes. he's built a plethora of two-wheeled machines over the years he's been in business. When he finally had some time to build something he wanted to ride, he built something sleek and simple, with no frills other than what was necessary to get him down the road in style.

It all started with a Santee rigid frame with 6 inches in the downtubes and 4 inches in the backbone, raked out to 43 degrees. He added a 10-inch-over-stock front end with a 7-degree set of triple-trees for a final rake of 50 degrees. A set of spoke wheels were mounted on either end of the bike with a 21-inch in the front and an 18-inch in the back wearing a 200mm Metzeler tire.

The driveline was a simple matter of calling up CCI and ordering all RevTech parts including a 100ci motor, polished six-speed transmission, and primary drive. A Mikuni carburetor was added along with a Forcewinder air cleaner and a set of V-Twin exhaust pipes with a high-temp, black powdercoat.

After the mock-up of the driveline and rolling stock, all the sheetmetal was fit to the bike. With the exception of the MidWest oil tank, the rest of the skin was fabbed by West Coast Choppers. When it came time for paint, Josh talked with his friend, John Gyves, about a simple Mercedes
