With the frame and wheels well taken care of, Jesse focused his attention to the bike's power. For this next phase of the Flyer's build Jesse turned to Mike Garrison, engineer and designer, at Engenuity Motor Company. The 120ci Twin Cam Evo engine is dressed with a billet top end and is another one-off, custom addition that Jesse has incorporated into this very special construction. A Mikuni carburetor and a Rooke Customs 2-into-1 stainless exhaust system have been added to the performance department. A Baker-right-side drive, six-speed transmission finds a welcoming home inside the of the K2 frame. A PM primary drive, final drive, and foot controls are also used to get this bike in gear and in motion.
When it came time to spray on the paint and powdercoating, Jesse kept local Huntington Beach establishments in the loop. Matt Polosky at Color Zone Designs, performed the handsomely striking paint job. The lettering across the upper front of the bike echoes the nostalgic cues of the K2's beach cruiser soul. Black, Pearl white, Ruby red, and gold outlining all blend perfectly to lend to the Flyer's beaming personality. Rooke then turned to Kelly Inman at Specialized Coatings for all his powder coating needs. The laid back and cool attitude of the Flyer must stem from its birth on the West Coast beaches.
Accessories are sometimes said to make the outfit, right? Well, it couldn't be accurate in the case of the Rossmeyer Flyer. More of Jesse's personal touches are easily visible on his custom fabbed rear fender, handlebars, and license mount. A Hot Match kickstand, CCI headlight, and a Todd's Cycle original seat all play huge roles in the smooth flow of yet another Rooke Customs masterpiece.
The entire build process lasted only 120 days-a mere four months. Although the original number 13 is in for an extended stay at Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona, three extremely lucky owners have the rare honor to gaze at and rev up the engine on this utterly gorgeous cycle. Keep your eyes peeled for Jesse, as he will be competing in this year's Artistry In Iron competition at the Las Vegas Bikefest. Rooke was granted entrance to this prestigious event through the Rossmeyer Flyer's Radical Class win at last year's Vegas Bikefest. We have always expected the absolute best from him, and look forward to gracing our pages with his next work of art.
