1981 Yamaha Virago, 98 H-D Fat Boy, 1981 Yamaha XS650 - Your Bike Here

Send in pics of your bike

writer: John Mata Jr.

Attention, Street Chopper Readers
Here's your chance to blow away your friends by getting your bike shown in full color on the pages of your favorite chopper mag. All you have to do is send us your pictures!

All we ask is that you follow some simple guidelines so you get the best shot of your chopper. Take a shot of your bike from the left and right sides (we need shots of both sides) with a nice, clean background and the sun at your back. Please send color prints or slides, no Polaroids or digital image printouts. Remember, the better the picture looks, the more likely it is to be published. So if you think your bike looks better than the picture, shoot again. We want to see what you ride, so send in some pics, along with the information listed below, to: STREET CHOPPER, Your Bike Here, 2570 E. Cerritos Ave., Anaheim, CA 92806.

 1981 Yamaha Virago

Rat Reincarnated
All hope was lost for this previously neglected '81 Yamaha Virago until John Pensis rescued the bike from its eminent demise. John handcrafted the majority of his parts, including the impressive cherrywood seat and headlight housing. A diesel turbocharger adds to the already responsive 920cc powerplant as it creates 15 pounds of turbo boost. As for the outward demeanor of his rumbling rat, John bathed the tank, rear fender, and forks in black truck bed liner paint. This reborn and rejuvenated machine has devoured 2,000 new miles and plans to feast on thousands more.

That's Not A Bike... This Is A Bike!
Hopefully, most readers will recognize the slightly altered quote from the cinematic wonder that is Crocodile Dundee, but for the underprivileged minority, just expect SRB Freddie's Fat Boy to one-up many bikes on the road. This '98 H-D from Sydney, Australia has been slowly customized; each part and modification required precise calculation. Freddie advises others with slowly evolving projects to have patience-do that, and "she'll be apples!"

Riding Dirty
With a name inspired by a favored Amsterdam strain, Chad "Dirty" Dalton's Silver Haze must pack a fierce, euphoric punch. The bike features the always-gnarly West Coast Choppers CFL frame, which has been powdercoated and dipped in black miniflake attire. Chad flexed his creative muscle and completed his first ground-up bike build in only seven months. The impressive result of Chad's first crop has sparked our anticipation for his next homegrown project.

Yamaha-O-Rama
Lee DeHaan, from West Olive, Michigan, would like to show-off his custom '81 Yamaha XS650 to our dear readers. Most of the OEM performance components remain intact, although there has been a considerable cosmetic metamorphosis. Lee's creation is terribly sleek and must pull loads of attention while cruising the streets.
