This old '51 Harley, built by Tony Jobbe, graced the pages of Street Chopper back in the mid-'70s. After its debut 35 years ago we uncovered this treasure in the archives yet again and felt it was time to bring it back for today's chopperheads.
Tony picked the bike up for $4,200 and owned it for eight years before tearing into it. When he did, he spent four months holed up in his garage without sunlight, food, or water to bring it to its then current state. It's anything but stock; the motor was given the Shovelhead treatment and was stroked out to 86ci with a stroker kit, 468T cam, oversized valves, and ported/polished heads. The frontend features a 17-over Springer with custom-made rockers that Tony built in his bike-building lair, and the pullback bars allow him to recline in the lo-pro King and Queen seat like a La-Z-Boy. For paint, Denny's Custom Creations laid a smooth pearly finish with intergallactic graphics on the gas tank and rear fender as well as along the frame rails. Notice the neck? Groovy man! Tony's bike is a great display of how sick the '70s chops were and still are today.
