Back in the November 1975 issue of Street Chopper, Editor Steve Stillwell shot Don Hughes from Adrian, Michigan, with his candy lemon ’72 rigid Sportster. Looking quite the period chopper, the frame was stretched 4 inches with no rake, but had 4 inches extended in the downtubes. Up front was a SIE Springer with dual Aris headlamps rolling on a Halcraft 18-inch Invader wheel and brake. Out back the bike rolls on a 16-inch Halcraft Invader wrapped in an Avon MK II and an “English” ribbed fender. We really dig the homemade sissybar, shorty 2-into-1 pipes, wild owner-painted graphics and frame. Not to mention Don’s Sweet ol’ lady and her halter top. STC
