This past weekend the Street Chopper staff descended upon the California coastline for the 1st annual Ventura Nationals. This even it a continuance of the old Primer Nationals, but due to some ownership and staffing changes along with the subsequent legal BS, the name had to be changed.
At the break of dawn Sat Sept 4th there were already a ton of bikes and hundreds of cars splayed out under the palm trees and by the time the spectator gates opened there were thousands of people gawking at some of the best choppers and cars the west coast had to offer.
After much searching our pal Grant Reynolds and myself passed the Street Chopper award (Evo Powered Hardtail Chopper) award to Cole Foster. Due to the fact that nobody can make a late model motor look sweeter in a vintage chassis.
Sunday Sept 5th saw the return of many cars and bikes from the previous day along with a mess of new vehicles making the scene. We hung out as long as we could then hi-tailed it home before the legendary Los Angeles traffic left us on the side of the road overheated.
We were glad that this event didn't die out die to the name change and know for sure we will be back next year for what we are sure to be a jam-packed weekend of motor mayhem. See ya there!
