Hello everyone. :) New here and looking to pick a few brains. I want to build a chopper bobber from the ground up. I will build the frame out of 1 1/4" square tubing 1/8" wall (just want a different look). My design is a single downtube rigid with a drop seat, no bends all mitered cuts and welds. No stretch anywhere. Has anyone built their own frame and could offer a little advice? I am very knowledgeable in welding and fabrication and my real good friend is a machinist. I have great resources, just have no knowledge on bike frames. :(

Here's another fabrication with Titanium, did last year, exposed to the weather, no effect. Even the brake pedal return spring anchor tab is Titanium. The brake pedal still chromed steel, have Titanium plate to machine and replace it. Notice the exhaust pipes? Just finishing reading the article on Dave Barkers Epic Knucklehead in Street Chopper Magazine and have to say a nice job and hello to some old friends that worked on the bike. Especially his Dad Jim and Steve (Shooter Benth). His dad helped me back in the mid seventies as I raced a sprint car out of his shop and Steve painted all my sprint cars back then. I haven't seen them in years, but just wanted to give a shout out to all of them and again a nice job on the Knucklehead. Hell I am an old man now, but still race non-wing spring cars and ride a HD 2010 Ultima.

I Bought a 1992 kawasaki EN500 A3 for 250$$ It was in parts and the seller told me it had lost compression, after i started the rebuild i ran into issues the seller forgot to mention. I have fixed all the issues but i cant get the bike to start... its has spark but i think the fuel is having a difficult time because i changed the stock air box to filter cones. i need help figuring out the fuel system???

It would take dozens of pictures and numerous pages to describe all the steps that were required to properly fabricate the titanium one-piece diamond shaped riser handlebars, so this is the short version! I enjoy working with titanium material for parts of my bike because of its superior qualities, mystique, tricky to work with, half the weight of steel, half as heavy as aluminum, twice tensile strength of aircraft aluminum, and a visually aesthetic tarnish resistant surface. To assure how the transformation is to take place with the titanium material, I spent a month of prototype fabricating machine cut steel risers clamped to 28” wide drag bar to establish correct angles, height, and length of material to be applied. I then brought in four feet of 1-inch round titanium solid bars in preparation to machine cut rather than TIG weld sections to make the transition from round for mounting grips and accessories to diamond shaped square sections meant to match the diamond shaped square tubing frame I fabricated early 1970’s. It’s another month, taking the titanium solid round bars and boring them out to lighten them that were the most laborious, yet nerve racking part of the one-piece handlebar build. Then, there is the process of CNC vertical mill machine cutting flat sides to transform sections of the round bar into diamond shaped square. I skipped the part of bending the diamond shaped square sections to the same angle on the drag bar without fracturing to keep this topic short. The bolts lined up with riser to triple tree, threaded and secured the handlebars in place, the TIG welded areas are brittle that requires stress relieving with the Oxy-Acetylene torch drenching the TIG welded areas with the blue hot flame, the dull red appears, an indication that the parts reached the heat treat annealed level. Upon slow cooling to room temperature, the titanium handlebar installed with grips and handlebar accessories.

Just wondering if anyone knows if chopper dave is still making parts. I ordered a velocity stack cover from him over 2 months ago, emailed him twice with no response and still no part. Is he still casting badass stuff or did he quit. Also what is the frontend on the bike with no info from japan in the newest issue of the mag. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Here is my 09 Dyna, made some changes over the winter while it was parked, Im too much of a *** to ride in the cold weather if I don't have to. First thing was to cut off the rear struts and mount a close fitting fender to the swingarm and relocate where the coilovers mount to the swingarm. Have a motor been building on for couple of years, thinking about using Promo Pro clutch or just going w/ a Rekluse pressure plate. Thought ya' all might have some pluses or minuses I should consider in addition to what I have read & learned-- because I like the Primo. Haven't gotten to the Dyno but basic calculations are ringing in at 115hp +/- & frame is 8up with 80/88" at the wheelbase +/- (haven't completely decided yet), also I'm using mechanical fuel injection...Any noise is better than none?.

Greetings. I am trying to locate the manufacturer of this LED tail light. It was on a bike called Metallic Orange built by Front Range Choppers, whose website still works but their phone doesn't. Failing identification, a suitable replacement array would work. The array measures 4 3/8" x 2 1/2" and has four wires exiting the plastic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I used a 96 ci S&S in a rigid frame for my first build. What I have found is that I have a lot of unusable power. This could be in part to my riding style. If I build another rigid I will go with a stock harley 80 ci and baker 4 speed. Ultima drive trains are really priced great. I have a friend who used the 127ci El Bruto and ultima drive train in a twisted choppers kit. Quality looked real good and no problems with it.
