5. Once the holes were drilled, I still needed to bolt the pieces together, but I had to bend the flat stock to fit it to the frame and clear the beltdrive.

6. I placed the flat stock and rod back on the trans, then marked the first place to bend it.

7. With the help of some heat and a hammer, the flat stock took shape in no time.

8. Here's a look at before and after a little heat.

9. I bolted the flat stock back onto the linkage and the transmission, and spray-painted it yellow so it shows up better in the photo.

10. Then I had to drill a hole in the flat stock for the shift rod to mount to. I used a 1/4-inch drill bit in a drill press.

11. This shows how the linkage will sit under the BDL beltdrive after it's been bolted to the controls.

12. Next was the brake side. I was out at the swap meet and found this brake master cylinder for 20 bucks.

13. All I needed to do was drill a second mounting hole.
