It may be possible to get a woman to go for a ride on a bike without a seat-with her butt sitting right on the fender-but who wants to ruin the fender's pretty finish? Besides, it's a lot easier to negotiate that ride when a padded seat is involved, and there's no convincing necessary when the seat is comfortable. That said, I needed to get a two-up seat for the '07 Harley Street Bob we are testing so I could go for a ride with my girlfriend. I called up H-D HQ and ordered a Sundowner two-up seat, Dyna passenger mounts, a seat bumper kit, and two sets of Stealth footpegs. Using just a few handtools, I had the Street Bob ready for its maiden voyage with two people in about an hour.

Two pairs of Stealth footpegs...

Two pairs of Stealth footpegs (top and bottom of footpegs shown), Dyna passenger footpeg mounting kit, and mounting hardware for the mounts and pegs.

I removed the original rider...

I removed the original rider pegs with a Torx ratchet bit and a 9/16-inch box-end wrench and installed the Stealth pegs with the same tools.

Next, the passenger peg mounts...

Next, the passenger peg mounts were installed on the Bob's swingarm followed by the Stealth passenger pegs.

Then the original solo seat...

Then the original solo seat was removed with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

The rear mount for the seat...

The rear mount for the seat was moved to the predrilled mounting hole located closest to the license plate. Harley suggests using a small zip tie to pull the rear seat mount through the fender. Then it can be secured with the original plastic C-clip.

The Seat Bumper kit is a few...

The Seat Bumper kit is a few pieces of adhesive-backed rubber that protect the fender from normal seat wear. A paper template is included to properly line up the bumper with contact points on the bottom of the seat pan. I lined up the rear mounting hole with the hole in the template and placed the front and rear bumpers on the fender.

The seat's front mounting...

The seat's front mounting tongue slipped flawlessly into the stock receptacle and was finally secured to the fender in the rear with the original Phillips-style mounting screw.
