West Coast Choppers LBC Footpegs: You Gotta Start Somewhere

Depending on whether you read front to back, back to front, or jump around from article to article, you may have already read the feature story on Dave Carkhuff's red rigid. If not, go back and read it so this will make more sense!

Anyway, you know how Dave built his bike one piece at a time? Well, that's how we came across these LBC Footpegs from West Coast Choppers (WCC). We really wanted a WCC to call our own, but didn't have the scratch to drop on a complete bike from WCC HQ. We also didn't have the patience to save up the cash (we're part of the MTV/Internet generation-we need it now). So we decided to build a WCC bike one part at a time, starting with the footpegs.

Stock sucks! Although the rubber does reduce vibration, which helps prevent pins and needles: There's nothing going in the looks department for these pegs.

West Coast's LBC pegs, on the other hand, are all about style, and we have no problem sacrificing comfort for cool looks. They feature a classic coffin shape with a flat black peg and a polish stainless grip insert. In fact, that's what we like most about them: Pull the inserts off, get 'em powdercoated to match your bike, or just run 'em.

Now for the hard part-the install. Pay attention: Unbolt stock peg. Pull bolt. Insert new peg. Insert bolt. Tighten bolt. Repeat on other side.

What these pegs lack in rubber isolation they make up for in cheese-grater style traction. There it is-now we only have 1,078 more parts to go.
