It is not a bad thing, but I'm getting tired of hearing "Are you done with that build?" Well, the answer is "No, not yet," but that is what happens when you only get about one day a month to work on your own bike. So the question is not a bad thing-it lets me know people are reading the magazine. Besides, the STREET CHOPPER staff is still trying to just keep up, not even catch up. So with the boss back in the driver seat I have a little-and I do mean a little-extra time to work on my own stuff for the build.
After I mocked up all the parts for the frame, I sent it over to Jason and Mike at Sacred Steel in Monrovia, CA, to get all the welds done the right way. Like I said in the first part of this build months ago, I can get things to stick, but I'm no welder.

Jason started by welding all the tabs for the oil bag, motor mount, rear brake, trans plate, and battery box. | 
Mike started on the exhaust pipe. As you can see here, all I was trying to do was get them to hold together until I could get them here to be TIG-welded. |
Here are the pipes welded the right way. | 
A closer look after all the welds were sealed and sanded down. I plan on having the pipe chromed to keep it from rusting, but will still cover it in exhaust-insulating wrap. | 
Mike also welded a mounting tab on the back of the pipe to line it up with the brake tab, so that I only have one tab on this part of the frame. |
