 13. The backside of the Cibie reflector has a wire latch to hold the bulb in. | 14. Due to the layout of the mounting ears on the bulb, there is only one way for it to fit into the hole. Just gently place the bulb in, close the wire latch, and slip the bootie over the terminals. | 15. I always use dielectric grease on all bulb connections. The grease prevents voltage leakage and protects electrical connections from the environment. Tip: buy the small tube-a little dab will do ya, so it lasts years. |
 16. After plugging in the bulb, the headlamp was slid into the bucket. Again, there are guides on both the lamp and housing that locate the lamp in the proper orientation. | 17. A threaded inner ring was inserted into the housing. An O-ring sits tight against the ring and the headlamp. An included insert tool was used to tighten the ring. | 18. Once the lamp was secured into the housing, an O-ring was placed into the outer bezel, before... |
 19. ...before threading the bezel by hand into the housing. | 20. Once fully secured, the bezel is locked into place with a socket set-screw and the included Allen wrench. | 21. A hole on the bottom of the housing accepts the set-screw. A dab of blue Loctite keeps the tiny screw where it belongs. |
 22. All that remained was waiting till dark-thirty and properly aiming the headlight. Once satisfied with the alignment, the nut was tightened and the plug was gently tapped flush, by hand, into place. | 23. A final shot of the completed install. Left side and... | 24. ...right side profile. The Headwinds unit definitely doesn't look stock, adding a custom touch to an otherwise hidden stock headlight. I was able to clean up all the extraneous stock wiring in the process. |
