9. The Rivera Primo Pro-Clutch hub came installed inside their new belt drive clutch basket which saved a few steps. The Pro-Clutch can be used in a stock H-D clutch basket if you already have a belt drive or a closed chain setup. Take care to make sure the woodruff key doesn't get cocked in the keyway during installation. Use thread locking liquid to hold the key in place if need be.
10. Rivera Primo calls for blue thread locking fluid on the new clutch hub nut. There is a new seal for the clutch pushrod in the nut as well. Do not reuse the stock nut.
11. The clutch hub nut needs to be torqued to 50-60 lb-ft. Remember it is left-hand thread! So it'll be turned counter-clockwise to tighten. Rivera Primo has a special clutch hub tool available to easily hold the outer splines of the hub during installation or removal.
12. The Pro-Clutch clutch plates can go in the clutch basket now, starting with the thicker 0.120-inch steel plate on the left. Next would be a friction plate followed by steel, continuing to alternate until there are no more. Make sure your hands are clean at this point.
13. The billet aluminum pressure plate goes on next. It is clearly marked "out" on the side that faces, well, out. The adjusting screw and lock nut thread into the center of the pressure plate, but leave them adjusted all the way out for now.
14. Next, the diaphragm spring, which is a special dished disc, and its retainer are installed. The shouldered nuts and their lock tabs thread onto the studs after a dab of anti-seize compound is used. The shouldered nuts are tightened down until they bottom out, then bend one lock tab over per nut.
15. Now the crank pulley, belt, and belt guide can go on the crank. Red thread locking fluid should be used on the crank nut before tightening it to 80-100 lb-ft. The clutch should be adjusted as per the factory specs or steps for your bike. Things change from hand to foot clutch and for jockey and ratchet lids to rotary top transmissions.
16. Rivera Primo has tons of covers and guards to help keep riders and passengers safe. This nice and simple chrome cover easily bolts over the Pro-Clutch. Since most bikes are a little different, you as the owner or builder need to realistically protect yourself from the possibility of something getting caught in the belt, to suit your bike and riding style.
17. The belt needs to be properly tensioned before riding to have the right amount of free play. While pushing up on the center of the belt, it should move about 3?4-inch for an open application. If you don't have a transmission adjuster bracket already, you'll need one of those as well to do this right. Don't forget to tighten the tranny mounts and readjust the final drive chain when you are done. Rivera Primo has a knowledgeable tech line, so don't be afraid to call with questions. Good luck and be safe!
